Ninth straight year for Nashville agency’s work to be chosen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 17, 2012) – Television spots that BOHAN Advertising produced for multiple clients have earned four Emmy Award nominations for 2013.

BOHAN has won at least one Emmy Award in seven of the last eight years. This is the ninth year in a row the agency’s work has received nominations in the two Emmy categories for commercial work.

They are being judged in the 27^th annual Midsouth Emmy Award competition. Winners will be announced Jan. 26 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.

The agency has two nominations in the commercial spot category (for a single commercial) and two in the commercial campaign category (for multiple commercials that work cohesively).

Clients involved include BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism and the TriStar Centennial Heart and Vascular Center in Nashville. Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson narrated the nominated Centennial Heart and Vascular spot.

The Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gives the awards. Emmys for commercial work in the Midsouth region began in 2004, and BOHAN is the only Nashville advertising agency to have won one.

Geneva Brignolo, executive director of the Nashville/Midsouth Chapter, said judges examine content, creativity and execution to determine winners of  “television’s highest honor.”

Commercials are subject to the same scrutiny applied to documentaries, newscasts, public service announcements and all other categories, she said.

The Nashville/Midsouth region covers Tennessee, North Carolina (except the Asheville market) and the Huntsville, Ala., market.
