Second consecutive year for magazine to recognize Nashville agency
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 2015) – BOHAN Advertising won Advertising Age’s 2015 silver award for agency culture in an international competition for small agencies. This follows selection in 2014 as Ad Age’s Southeast Small Agency of the Year.
The award was announced in Boston during the trade publication’s sold-out small agency conference. Hundreds of agencies across the U.S. and abroad entered. Only two awards recognized agency culture. Elite SEM in New York City won the gold culture award.

“We work with a distinctive multi-discipline ‘village’ concept. We don’t believe in time sheets, we’re entrepreneurial, we build strong relationships with clients who become villagers and we have a good time in the process,” Bohan continued.
Advertising Age said that its annual competition is stiff, with an ever-increasing number of entrants. The online and print magazine is one of the most respected trade publications in the advertising industry.
Award entry material observes that the culture award is for “that shop that makes employees proud to show up at work each day and have a bunch of fun while they do it.”
Bohan launched his agency in 1990 with one client and a small office on Nashville’s Music Row. Twenty-five years later, the office has become an entire city block, and the agency competes in national pitches for household brand names.
Ad Age uses an example from the agency’s “Nothing Shall Be Impossible” campaign for Saint Thomas Health to illustrate BOHAN’s culture award, and the magazine recently ran an op-ed piece about the agency’s village concept and elimination of time sheets.

The agency’s client roster includes the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism – the original client from 1990 – Dollar General, Saint Thomas Health, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and O’Charley’s.
